Marriage starts with a ring. It starts with a ring that symbolizes the everlasting love between one person and another. As part of a wedding ceremony, the rings are sometimes carried by children on ring pillows or are held by the best man.

Weddings are wonderful celebrations and are often filled with symbolic meanings which emphasize the love of two people. The ring bearer is usually a young male child, usually around the age of 6, who carries one or both rings on a white pillow. Usually, the rings are imitation rings and the real ones are kept by the best man for safe keeping.

The ring bearer doesn’t have to be a young male but can also be a young girl. Whatever you find that will make your wedding day the one of your dreams.

The pillow is white because it represents purity and the honesty of love. It was also used as far back as the Egyptian period. The wedding jewels were displayed on decorated pillows which also represented the importance of the jewelry.

Ring pillows are a beautiful part of the wedding ceremony. There are so many different styles of pillows if you choose to have a more traditional wedding. Traditional weddings are so full of symbolism that it makes the celebration even more romantic.

Ring pillows add a wonderful touch to your wedding. With the many styles available, you can really add that special feel and keep your wedding with tradition.

  • So the time you spend to pick out your wedding rings, will be time that is well-spent.

The first thing you will need to know is your ring sizes. If you don’t know them already, there are resources online to help you find out what your sizes are without even leaving your home.

Of course, budget constraints are a major factor when shopping for your wedding rings. But once you have established your ring sizes, and the price range that is affordable for you, your choices have just begun!

When wedding rings are family heirlooms, their value becomes even greater. The history of the rings as well as their potential future are significantly connected on your special day.

Why are wedding rings worn on the third finger of the left hand? According to legend, the practice of wearing wedding rings began in Egypt over 2000 years ago. Egyptians believed that a vein from the left third finger traveled directly to the heart. Greeks adopted this tradition when they conquered Egypt. Eventually the tradition was passed on to the Romans. In parts of Europe, the tradition is to wear wedding rings on the third finger of the right hand. But it is thought that the left hand is the “hand of choice” since most people are right-handed and when a bride or groom is putting a ring on their chosen’s hand, that the left hand is more naturally accessible.

Wedding rings symbolizing the (hopefully) endless love of the bride and groom is well known. Some legends regarding lesser known symbolism involves the fit of the rings. A ring that is too tight may symbolize jealousy or the stifling of the relationship. While a ring that is too loose may symbolize a parting of the ways due to careless acts or forgetfulness.

When it comes to your wedding rings, one thing is sure. They are a symbol of a new chapter in your lives. Enjoy the chapter that you are in, while you anticipate the day when your special wedding rings will be worn with joy and anticipation of your life together.
