Wedding Tiaras
Wedding tiaras are another optional piece of your bridal attire. Contrary to some opinions, the extravagance of your wedding is not based on whether or not you choose to wear a tiara.
A tiara is often associated with royalty and their special occasions. Historically, people of power or special importance were the only ones to wear a tiara. So will there ever be a better time to wear one than on the day that you are a princess?
If you decide to wear a tiara, it is important that the style of the one you choose goes with your hair style, and the color goes with your dress and jewelry. Also, a large tiara can add to your height. This may or may not be a good thing depending on what effect you would like to achieve. Be sure to try on the tiara to see how it goes with the shape of your face. A beautiful tiara in your hand may not be the right one for you once you put it on.
Sometimes the bride chooses to have the flower girl wear a tiara. This can be an option whether or not the bride is wearing one. If both are wearing a tiara, the one on the flower girl is usually smaller and less intricate.
Tiaras have been worn since ancient times with varying degrees of popularity. They were extremely popular in the early 1900’s until the 1930’s. Wedding tiaras have recently regained popularity. From the early very simple styles, through the extravagant (and often ugly) over-emphasis to today’s beautiful but affordable styles, a tiara has always signified grandeur.
There are several alternatives to wearing a tiara. Jeweled combs or hairpins, flowers, or decorated barrettes are just a few ways to accent your hair.
Whether you wear a tiara or not, whatever you choose for your hair should make you feel as beautiful as you will look.
